Portland (part) District #40. Rep. Rachel Talbot Ross is serving her second term in the Maine House. She is a member of both the Health and Human Services Committee and the Judiciary Committee. A ninth-generation Mainer and longtime public servant, Talbot Ross has worked for the City of Portland and has led several nonprofit organizations dedicated to social justice. She is currently the director of the Martin Luther King Jr. Fellows and president of Maine Freedom Trails. She serves on the Maine State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and is chair of the African American Collection Advisory Committee at the University of Southern Maine. Talbot Ross is the recipient of numerous awards, including the University of New England’s Deborah Morton Award for exceptional civic leadership.
